JOIN THE NEW LOOK COMMITTEE NOW
Our aim is to have all new committee members in place by the end of January 2024! So, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via roles@crackingtonvillageshop.co.uk to let us know of your interest or if you have any queries. New committee members can be co-opted onto the committee ahead, with all roles to then be formally proposed at the June 2024 AMM, so we are actively requesting that all those interested to get in touch asap!
Whatever your involvement in the shop up to now, as customer, shareholder of, or volunteer for the Crackington Village Shop (or indeed all of the above, as many of you are) you are hugely valued and already play an integral part in the ongoing success of the day to day running of the shop in our community.
Our current committee members have been in place for around 4 years, 3 years in an official capacity. Following the naturally heavy lifting of fundraising, setting up and opening the shop there are of course tired legs and also, in line with our model rules, all committee members must step down after 3 years in post.
This presents a fantastic opportunity for others in the community to step up and bring both fresh energy and new ideas to help shape the ongoing successes of this amazing community shop project. The shop is of course already in pretty great shape, with a new management team in place and two full years of healthy finances under it’s belt.
All current committee members will step down from their roles formally at our next AMM (voted to be brought forward to June 2024). Two or three of our current committee members are, at this stage, likely to stand again, albeit potentially in different roles.
Roles are; Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Communications, Community Engagement & HR

Some of the above roles require specific skills of which, if relevant to you via current work or past experience, you’ll of course already be aware. All roles ideally require strong organisational skills & a basic level of computer skills, alongside forward thinking, problem solving and the ability to work harmoniously in a like-minded team.
All are welcome to step up into the new committee, supporting the new management, led by Brian, in growing an established legacy, to refine and improve what’s already in place. As mentioned above, new members can be co-opted onto the committee ahead, with all roles to then be formally proposed at the June 2024 AMM.
